Text Reading
If you are talking about text reading, you have to differentiate between OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and OCV (Optical Character Verification). In an OCV application known to-read text is available and the text will be verified. That means it will be tested how the quality of the text is. In an OCR application the to-read text is not known and the system determines the individual characters independently.
The system is independent of the marking system and can read text which is printed, lasered or nailed. To read all fonts and characters you have to teach a unique character set one-time. After that it is possible to read one or more texts with OCV or OCR. The teaching process is very easy, because you only have to enter the text you want to read and move the region to the location on the screen where you want to read it. Everything else (such as individual characters search) will be carried out by the system automatically and independently.
With our systems, it is possible to read and verify several lines of text at the same time. Furthermore the possibility exists to combine a plain text reading with other test tasks for example a code reading, as it is represented in the following image.
